I have already BTDT with my car. I have been to sea level with my car last
year for the ACNA Nationals at Sears Point and I did some baseline runs on a
dyno. My O2 sensor for my wideband air/fuel ratio was on the fritz and I wanted
to baseline my mixture for the sea level climate. I think it was the very dyno t
hat Javad uses since he was there. The issue with my car was running out of
fuel at the top end. As I approached 5500rpm, the fuel pressure gauge actually
started going lower. With this forced lean condition I did have to limit my
boost to about 21lbs. I have since remedied this problem with my recent fuel
system upgrades:
1. Larger injectors-440cc vs 370cc@ 3.0 bar
2. Fuel reservoir
3. Larger fuel lines
4. Bosch Motorsport 044 high flow fuel pump
I also run an adjustable fuel pressure regulator that allows blanket
manipulation of my fuel curve up and down. In addition I have a MAF bypass that I can
meter bypass air around the MAF. This allows a small adjustment of unmetered
air to lean things out if required. Yes, we will require some tuning but it
will be simple and quick.
