Taka,

Are you referencing the GTO that Ferrari produced around 1984 with the twin
turbos??? I have seen one of those in my lifetime, definitely one of my
ultimate dream cars, you have to admire somebody who will actually drive a
car on the street like that. Although a used Testarossa is actually almost
"affordable" i.e. I COULD get one if I didn't hate any kind of debt so much
:)

Paul-
TR?!? F the TR!

Nothing else (except for an F40) sounds quite as unusual as a 288GTO
spooling up and slingshotting down the highway, with me in tow,
desperately trying to keep in sight with the V70R. The Ferrari V8
sound combined with the whining spool-up of those big IHI turbos is
quite unreal.

The driver was appreciative of my thumbs-up recognition of his car,
gave me quite a show, dropping the hammer on some straights, slowing
down to let me catch back up and dropping it again- this repeated a
few times. :-)

I wonder if he would have done this if I came alongside in the STi.

The number of exotic cars I see in this neck of the woods (Lotus 340R,
Pantera, F355, F360, 288GTO, F50, Viper GTS-R, 996tt/GT2/GT3, Aston
DB7/Vantage/Vanquish) makes me wonder if there is a very high end
exotic dealer tucked away somewhere, or a very, very rich enthusiast.

Taka
will visit the Ferrari dealer when I hit the lotto
