Listeners: While changing my oil the other day, I decided to check the
condition and torque of the Plugs. All 5 of the plugs had were lightly
carbon fouled, with pretty much the same amount on each one. I have a 95.5
S6, with 91k miles and the Plugs were changed about 5k miles ago {OEM plugs
were used}, as well as the air filter, fuel filter, O2 sensor and the
Ignition Coil Leads {i.e. the rubber boots over the Plugs}. I have also
added a fuel injector cleaner a couple of times over the last year or so.
Since I live close to work, the Car is subjected to a lot of slow, start &
stop driving; very seldom do I drive the freeways or at WOT. I understand
that this type of driving can cause the carbon build-up on the Plugs. The
Car seems to run good, no obvious misses, or hesitation. Looking for any
BTDT or other possibilities. Thanks in advance.
Dan
