Try www.freightquote.com, that should get you multiple quotes.

I was suprise how much the quotes ranged for shipping a transmission.

Also count on an extra $80-$100 just for "home pickup" if they have to
come out with a lift-van...  You can save a lot by taking the shipment
directly to the terminal (if you have access to a avant or pickup or
something like that...)
