Todd,
I would try to repair the broken wiring first. IME it is always the 
broken strands in the wires. Only once did I fail to repair the cam 
position sensor. It was one one of Stefan's cars. The strands broke 
flush at the epoxied body, hence we elected to replace it.

Folks, there are no moving parts in the cam position sensor, thus 
there's nothing to break.
