[s-cars] Fuel Pumps: Was- Car stalled in fast lane last night...

JFB: Very, very curious. In previous posts I have contended that the recent
replacement fuel pumps are not up to the flow and/or pressure capacity of the
original fuel pumps. I am basing this "theory" on the conventional wisdom that
the original pumps were generally capable of supplying both the flow and pressure
required for an RS2-based upgrade "up to 400 hp". I had my original VDO pump
replaced (make unknown) at a dealership 20 months ago (due to failure on a road
trip). Since then I upgraded (finally) to RS2 standards and have experienced
periodic high boost lean out (pinging). I have not confirmed that it is the pump
(could also be a restriction in the fuel line after the KY recall work) but it is
curious that you are suggesting similar lean out symptoms. Hmmmm.....
