[s-cars] Wheel Stud Conversions

If one defines recently as in "the past 18 months", then I qualify.

14.x1.5 mm thread size sucks. Almost nobody uses it anymore. That
said, Porsche, Mercedes and Audi still do.

Ball seat is hard to find (what you've got now). I had my HRE wheels
drilled with ball seats and now wish I'd gone cone seats. Locks? you
can almost forget them with stud conversions.

Porsche has the most hardware available, but are moving to lug bolts
on things like the Cayenne.

I'm using open nuts as they are pretty much hidden in the holes on my
wheels. Beneath the Avus wheels, you won't see them.

Stud length? It will vary, depending on your setup. It's a factor of
rotor thickness (I have BIRA Al hats, which are thicker), wheel
thickess (through the bolt hole) and nut type (I sized for Porsche
acorns. There's a guy making stainless acorns (using Porsche pattern).
I've got a brand new set which I'd sell if you're interested.

Mine are H&R which I bought through a distributor.
