[s-cars] CD changer surgery tips?

So I'm tired of having my 10 disc not being able to select now ANY of its 10
CDs. First started as intermittently not picking one here or there, now
none (done the unplug - plug bit, no success). Some here have reported luck
with disassembling the sucker, cleaning / lubing, and reassembling so that's
where I'm headed. Like it's worth the hassle and not getting a replacement
off ebay for $25, I know, I'm a glutton I guess.

Any insight here on changer surgical procedure appreciated. I know at least
a few here have done so. Trying to avoid doing it 'my way', which typically
translates into having the CD changer formerly playing CDs prior to my
"Midas Touch", but then having the unit pump coolant or fend of mosquitoes
or tell the time in Istanbul or something totally amuck post "Midas Touch".

TIA.

-Paul no tunes getting old in CT where there are maybe 3 tolerable radio
stations left. Maybe. K.
