Mark,
It sounds like you have a great dealer. I had the same problem but I went thru a contact at A of A. He dragged his feet too long and I handled the problem in another fashion. The defect is in the swaged connector on the line attached to the fuel rail. My connector spun on the line and in cold weather it would leak. When I called around I found that the fuel rail is in very limited supply and it is quite pricy. I did not want to wait 3 months for the next shipment so I just cut off the connectors on both ends and pieced in a rubber high pressure fuel line and double clamped it. The fuel line (5/16") I used is about $6 a foot. I did that fix about 2 years ago and it hasn’t leaked a drop. By the way the other side by the fuel filter was done by the previous owner and was performed in the same manner.

Good luck on a recall. I think NHTSA would want to see several engine fires before it went into action. By that time all the S4 & S6s would be toast.

Mark
