Carry two couple foot long pieces of 2x4 in the trunk.  Put them behind
each front tire and back up on them for the length of them.

Not true, as long as you have some passengers with you.   If you open
the trunk, and have 1-3 people sit on the trunk lip, you can raise the
nose up enough to get yourself off the curb.

BTDT with my family, I'm sure it looked fairly amusing to the other
200+ people in the parking lot who also just got out of the movie :-)
