[s-cars] Lobotimizing the Lamp Control Module

I found a write up on Audiworld, which refers to urs4.com that was based
on Igor's original write up;

The instructions say to connect terminals 56bL and 56bL1 together and
56bR and 56bR1 together then cut the traces on the PCB with an x-acto
knife.

56bL and 56bL1 are already connected via tracings on the PCB and my
multimeter confirms that there is continuity between these, ditto 56bR
and 56bR1.

Do I need to solder these together even though they already have
continuity?
