This is one area where I always recommend the dealer, solely because the
ones from the dealer fit while the ones from The Parts Connection or others
don't. BTDT.
While both bulbs are made by Osram, the dealer ones (p/n 893 919 040 A) have
the hex shaped back just like the ones you will be removing. The other type
are the taller square back.
The main difference is in the ease of installation and the squeeze of the
contacts. The square ones are a little bit of a PITA to install in the deep
recesses of the back cover, while the hex ones are simple with the use of a
6mm driver. With regard to the contacts, the circuit board is thinner where
you are replacing the bulbs and the square ones just wobble around as
they're made for a thicker portion of the board. They can be made to fit
somewhat better by flattening the contacts with some pliers, but why dick
with it? Just spend the few extra bucks for the right ones.
