I've got a stock 95.5 S6 Avant, and another S6 Avant owner has offered me an
Eibach spring set as well as Bilstein sport shocks.
Specifically: Eibach Pro springs (1529.140 Kit (original): p/n 1529.001 F,
1529.002 R)
>From Charlie Smith's posting http://www.elektro.com/~audi/eibach/
Its very clear that there are at least 3 different Eibach kits with the same
1529.140 part number. I'm confused if these will really be appropriate for
my application. I'm hoping some of you have BTDT. Here are my questions:
1) Since I believe the Avants carry more weight over the rear axle, I'm
guessing the spring sets between the Avants and sedans wouldn't be
interchangeable. Do you think this set would be appropriate for my Avant?
2) My goals are pretty modest....I just want to improve overall handling and
feel. The wagon has more body lean (especially in the rear) than the stock
sedans. I'm not looking to take this to the track, and I don't want to give
up too much ground clearance. This will be a daily driver, and my wife uses
it a lot, so I don't want to go down this path if it creates a rough riding
car. Do you think this set up would achieve my goals?
3) Finally, if you think the spring set would work for our Avant, do you
think a camber plate would be a good idea? If so, can you suggest any
sources?
Thanks very much for your help,
Robert Welch
