ON THE GP -

  If there is going to be a group buy for Nokian tires, I'd suggest that
  the main Quattro list and the V8 Quattro list be included in the buy.

  If quantity helps get the price down, that will add a lot more buyers.


ON THE TIRES -

  Two years ago, I put a set of studded Nokian Hakkapeliitta 1 tires 
  on the original 16"x8" S6 wheels.  They are (of course) outstanding
  on snowy or icy roads.  On dry roads however, they are very 'squirmy'
  and give you the feeling that the car is very loose and not hooked
  tightly to the road.  It's really OK, but it takes some getting used to.

  With any aggressive winter tire, especially one with studs, you are going
  to have to slow down in corners in the dry, if you want to preserve that
  deep tread that works so well in snow.

  The current production Hakkapeliitta 2 is probably even better.

  Nokian Tire USA is at 800-565-2525.  Anna in customer relations
  is very helpful.

  Greer Enterprise in Minn got me some out of production sizes,
  and gave me very good prices on them.  Talk to Greg at 800-325-2598.
