Robert,

That's the setup I'm running on my 95.5 S6 Avant. I
don't have the part numbers on the springs in front of
me, but the kit number is what I'm running. There was
a brew-ha-ha on these springs and things got quite
confused. I will check mine part numbers and report
back tonight or tomorrow.
> 2) Do you think this set up would achieve my goals?
Yes, the Eibach/Bilstien is probably a good choice.
It lowered my wagon almost 2 inches in front and
barely a half inch in back. This left the fender gap
just slightly bigger in the rear. The ride is
noticably firmer but not uncomfortable.
If I had things to do over I'd probably get custom
valved Bilstiens. I find the damping a bit too much
on compression and a bit too little on rebound. But
the change would probably be lost on most people, I'm
a bit of a nut.

My alignment is slightly out of spec. Due to the
lowering of the front end, they can't get all the
negative camber out of the front wheels. I'm at -1.5
degrees on one side and -1.2 on the other. I think
spec is a max of -1.1. So I'm likely going to wear
out the inside edge of my tires quickly. Camber
plates would fix this. 2Bennett (www.2Bennett.com)
have very nice camber plates and ECS
(www.ecs-tuning.com) have a cheaper option.
There's also a do-it-yourself variety, which is my
plan, where you re-drill the stock plates. Again, the
link is at home so I'll include that when I report on
my spring part numbers.
> Thanks very much for your help,
Surely. One more thing, Robert, is that I ended up
disliking the higher rear-end of the car. I also
found the car to still understeer too much. For a
street car this is a good thing, but I'm a nut so I
wanted a more neutral balance. Instead of the fat
rear sway-bars that most of these guys do, I went with
a coil-over rear spring setup with stiffer rear
springs. I am able to set the ride height where I
want it and adjust it if I'm taking a long trip with a
lot of junk in the trunk.
Good luck,
Rich
