I don't think it's really the fact that one has an Audi (which I
currently do- yes, Paul, it's real), but rather the fact that I've had
the opportunity to meet a lot of knowledgeable and enthusiastic
gearheads through the s-list.

Most car enthusiasts that I've met really don't care whether the car
is an Audi, BMW, Porsche, Subaru, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Volvo, Saab,
whatever, as long as the car is neat/cool/nice/etc.

My neighbor is a big-time Chevy guy (has something like 8 Chevys), has
a "No. 3" Dale Earnhardt flag outside the garage, etc. and even he
thought the STi was kind of cool. I think he recognizes that high
horsepower Japanese "sport compacts" are definitely a phenomenon now
and that the people doing them (like Pizzo) are hopping them up and
doing the same kind of thing that he did to his Camaro in the late
'60s-early '70s.

Along the same lines, I can appreciate his LS6 Chevelle just as much
as I can a Corvette Z06, Mitsubishi Evo 8 or Mustang Cobra.

I'm also pretty certain that I'll get a B5 or B6 Audi A4 1.8T as a
daily driver eventually, relegating the STi to more of a weekend car
and also eventually getting that Z06.

gotta have a full garage or it's no fun
