S-Car Crew,
The talk about RS2 Tubular headers got me thinking. I have an
acquaintance who has been in the header biz since 1962 and who created a
sweet mandrel bent exhaust for my 200-20v. If someone were willing to
provide a well-thought out and proven tubular header design for the
AAN/RS2 turbo (something from Lehmann would be good start) I would be
willing to see if he would be interested in whipping up a batch for us,
and if so, what it might cost. BTW, all of their headers are fabricated
using a digitally controlled mandrel benders. They also do ceremic
coating and stainless steel. They make their stainless steel headers
with a "304" stainless 3/8" thick flanges and "409" stainless tubes. The
"409" is an exhaust grade stainless and is more "malleable" which means
that it lasts longer than the "304" tubes tend to.
I suspect, without actually knowing, that it would be cost competitive
with what we have to pay to obtain the RS2 Ex Mans from Deutschland.
