Yeow!  I may not know enough about it, but it sounds bogus
to me.  If anything, I would think adhesives in general are
non-conductive, and that conductive adhesive would be more
expensive. But even then $55 more expensive?  I'll leave
the definitive answer to others more knowlegeable, but that's
my 2 cents.
