[s-cars] Clutch Rod Went Out

Hi Russell;

Yeah, I have an R&R written - I just have to add in the photos. I guess now
I'll have to finish the dang thing and send you a copy.....

I upgraded the design by installing washers to fill up the space between the
clevis and the top adjuster lock nut, then tightened the entire assembly
together so it effectively makes a thicker rod. The washers have to be
chosen for thickness so the 109.5 mm distance from clevis hole to master
cylinder mounting face is achieved.

Mine failed because the rubber cushioning ring in the boss at the end of the
threaded rod flowed out on one side. This cocked the plate, causing the rod
to flex between the clevis and the top locknut until it failed from fatigue.

Subject: [s-cars] Clutch Rod Went Out

I have the dreaded clutch actuating rod break this morning.

Is there an upgrade to this weak design?

Anyone know where to find instructions to R&R?

TIA
