[s-cars] S Fest 2004:

Hi:

I read Paul's recap on S Cars.org once again and got motivated to write a 'little' bit.
Man was PK inspired that day or what? Great story line Paul.

It was so friggin' hot I felt like an Aquamister personified, sweating profusely.

In addition to the Tom Pollock S6 wheel story below, here are some additions.

Jim Pasqualoni won the Mihnea Tuning raffle prize and ultimately figured out that Mihnea tunes a few other Audi types in the line up. You see, Jim was pondering who he could award this fine prize too also, as he JUST finished a NEA KKK turbo upgrade.
Jim found his answer, and decided to surprise his father with the tuning session. Could you imagine turning on your Dad to the Slippery Slope this way!

Bill Perron won the Ronal USA gift certificate, and a fine addition to his collection as well.

If either of us (Paul, me) forgot to mention any winners, and you're aching for public recognition, please write!

I know many people came to chat, and I have to beg forgiveness for being so distracted and brief during the festival.
Being one of the organizers, I had a lot of stuff to do. And Paul kept telling me about people seeking me out for raffle tickets so I could never really rest. Uncle Bob was busting my butt for wearing that goofy fanny pack backwards. Later I pulled my shirt over the pack so I could look just like Bob! (profile at least) I'll promise to be more stylish next year.

Every year NE S Fest has a different character, and 2004 will go down in the books as a superb event. As you might expect, Bob, Bys, and I are already talking about what to improve for next year, We're careful not to ask Paul about NE S Fest 2005 yet, whooah baby, not so fast! as it's much too early. Round about Feb 2005 someone will ask.
So Whaazzzup this year?

And then it rekindles all over again.
Jeff Posto

Tom Pollock,

Further to what Paul K wrote about the S6 wheel prize you won, check THIS
out.

Aaron Smith, was the man from Shokan who donated the S6 wheel to the raffle.

He hadn't actually cleared it with his father, who owns Shokan, but made an
executive decision on our behalf. Nice move!

Aaron wanted to meet you, and I offered to establish email between you two
guys, in your InBox. In addition to what Paul wrote, you will be interested
to learn this.

The first winner of the S6 wheel was actually Emre Washburn. I drew his
ticket and presented the wheel to Emre.

Emre and Aaron were deliberating and offered to place the prize BACK in the
raffle.

Really puzzled I asked Emre, "Are you really sure,? because it's your
perogative to keep it! "

Emre told me he had JUST purchased one from Shokan and installed it on his
S4, so he wanted someone else to get a chance. He didn't need a second one,
even though he could have sold it that very day!

That's when I turned to Paul and asked for clearance, he gave the nod, I
drew the second ticket the winner was, YOU!

Later I thanked Emre for this enormous gesture and asked him why. He replied
that he is a firm believer in Karma, and all that entails.

This is the kind of 'stuff' that went on at S Fest, in addition to all the
other memories captured earlier.

Congratulations Tom!

Jeff Posto
