BTW, I forgot to mention, the projector lens is not
only physically separate from the "outer" lens of the
headlamp, but it serves as the primary optical lens
of the system. If you notice, even the DOT lens
is essentially clear of fluting directly in front of either
the low beam or fog projectors. The fluting near them
is mostly (I assume) to control glare. Or it may do
absolutely nothing.  As for the high beam, the fluting
there does most of the control of the beam.

No, it doesn't. About all a Euro lens will do is allow the 
high beam a little clearer "view" as it has notably less 
fluting than the DOT lamp. Since the 9011 in the DOT
Hi Beam is already pretty damn impressive, it's really
no help. The low beam pattern is totally dictated by 
the "mask" in the DOT projector.
