Krazy "K",

I'd be game. Mid-October, ya say eh? Wonder if we can make
that video projector HID (bwahahahaha).

Anyway, yup, would need one DOT and one Euro projector
(although I'm willing to bet the "mask" is simply a sheet of steel or
aluminum cut in the right pattern placed at the len's focus. Of course
getting to the focal point is another matter). Now, looking for a pair
of good tin snips..... (small hammer, nah 10 lb sledge, pliers, nibbing
tools, heck BFH)

projectors

No, it doesn't. About all a Euro lens will do is allow the
high beam a little clearer "view" as it has notably less
fluting than the DOT lamp. Since the 9011 in the DOT
Hi Beam is already pretty damn impressive, it's really
no help. The low beam pattern is totally dictated by
the "mask" in the DOT projector. If someone can figure
out an easy way to change the DOT "mask" for the Euro
"mask", then we'd have the advantage of the 9012 bulb
(or HID capsule) and the Euro pattern. From my understanding,
the mask is the major difference between the DOT and Euro
projectors. Think of it as the "slide" in a "slide projector"
(remember them, they predated PowerPoint), the bulb or
capsule is like the projector bulb, the mask is the slide
(or film for a movie projector), the projector lens is the....
Projector Lens! Unfortunately, from what I hear, it's not
too easy to get to the mask, as it is made as part of the
projector assembly. Anyone want to donate a projector
assembly to me so I can see what procedures I can develop
on changing masks?

Larry-
1st... the Euro lens (outer glass lens) made a GREAT difference in high
beam output compared to the DOTs... not just "a little clearer view".
For the $65 it's phenomenal bangforthebuck.

B) I've got 3 or so spare DOT projector assemblies for you to play with,
is that what you're looking for? I'd assume you'd also need access to a
spare Euro one. Er, wait, um, methinks me also has one of them you can
futz around with. Something about some
German-expatriot-dude-now-in-Michigan nuking one of his Euros
pre-SFest...
Come and get 'em and come up with something for us all heh heh... next
gathering of fools @ my likely to occur mid Oct, get them then? Speaking
of projectors... we'll likely be featuring Victory By Design or the like
'projected' upon the side of my house (literally) for that gathering...
don't ask 8-)...

CT with spare projectors coming out my wazoo apparently, and with an
outdoor theater in the works
