If you get a bit deeper in the website, ie in Product Line, you'll see:
9005 Silvestar: 1700 lumens
9006 Silvestar: 1000 lumens
when 9011/12 are 2300/1700 lumens. Not saying that Silverstars have bad
light output but HIRs give 35 to 70% more light for 20% more $. Not a bad
deal, especially as you get 70% improvement in the lows where you need it
the most, the OEM highs being not so bad IMHO.
Besides, "high performance" Sylvania have a very short life, and I really
mean short, like 2-3 month. And it's really the bulbs, the regular bulbs I
have switch back to have been installed 14 month ago.
Now, just think about 9011/9011 with a small modification of the 9011 socket
to have it fit in the low beams. Going from less than 800 lumens in the lows
(traditional output of a regular 9005) to 2300 lumens!
Vincent.

Out of curiosity, has anybody tried the Sylvania SilverStar bulbs? I've
seen them around at a few of the local auto parts stores and I've heard good
things about them. Does anybody know how they might compare to the GP
bulbs?

So far people have expressed interest in ordering 26 HIRs and a lot of the
other bulbs. A number of additional people are interested, just haven't
decided yet. It seems to make sense to wait until next week to go ahead and
start placing our orders with Daniel. Hopefully some of those that are
undecided at this point will want to get in on the GP and the price per bulb
will come down more... I think that if someone is in a rush they could
probably place an order now and pay an extra couple dollars per bulb.
A lot of people also seem interested in the Euro lenses... maybe we should
try a GP on those?
Thanks,
Matt Pelkey
