Paulie, the highest your EGTs were in 6th gear and close to 5500-6000 RPM 
(of course on your private race track :-)) is 847 degree C post-turbine. 
Sounds good enough to me, but I can't swear such EGTs won't make a manifold 
glow after a thrash.
