I'd second that. My GTi ended up with a clogged kitty, absolutely NO
power, although it idled smoothly. 

Did NEA do a flow test with compressed air? 

I'd imagine only a partial clog would allow the car to run with adequate 
power, but I'd imagine Mihnea tune would already stress out at least
a stock exhaust B/C he told me that I'd get better spool up with my
stock exhaust but no greater peak power with a Stromung. Just thinking
out loud.
