Paul-
The first thing I would check is that you wired the stuff
properly. Is it possible that you wired it backwards, that
might explain the behavior you're noticing.

When you're lighting the pod, I'd highly recommend getting
the proper direct-fit red LED for illumination rather than
the bulb with the red condom, it will give you better results.

BTW, I wired my gauge in with power from under the steering
column, I believe one of the feeds for the instrument cluster.

Thanks for the thoughts. Thought the wiring was correct, of course. But
now? Here's the odd bit... the dimmer works correctly on both cluster and
pod with KEY OFF, soon as you turn the key to "on", the pod dims regardless
of position of light switch, and then the rheostat works oppositely on it.

WRT condoms... I think that'd be more an issue with white faced gauges with
side lighting... backlit black glows just subtly enough to match the
factory illum. elsewhere and so as to not be distracting / noticeable to
passerby's due to its high location.

Will likely yank from ashtray and try that lead under column, tx.

ps Taka 'V8s coming and coming and coming M.'? Just ribbin... you need the
push 8-) Heh I'm going to start calling your 200 "Vera" like Norm's wife
from Cheers...
