Strut top caps are a well-known problem especially with Bilsteins which
I think you have on your car, don't you Bill? I just tightend mine up
recently -- raised the car, removed wheels, lifted the boots, took a
pair of Channel Lok's and tightened as hard as I could. Problem solved.
The clunking, I'd call it a "clunk" and not a "clink" :) was noticeable
on bigger bumps and rough roads, no shortage of those in NE.

Is the sound tinny like an exhaust shield rattle or more of a "clunk"
when you hit bigger bumps or potholes?

>Check the strut top caps to make sure they are tight. Could be the
strut cartridge rattling around.
