Thickness might make more difference with this particular hose, now that I
think about it.  The other hoses just have to be strong; it does not matter
whether they hold their form or not because boost would always force them
open.  With the MAF to turbo hose, it needs to be thick enough, or rather:
rigid enough, to hold shape against a vacuum (albeit a weak vacuum if you
have your negative boost minimized).  Then again, as long as those building
the hoses take that into account, it shouldn't be an issue.

I had a parts car that had SFS hoses on it and other than being more thin
they were just as nice and I don't think the thickness would make any
difference at all. Look at the MTM hoses, they are very thin and I have
never heard of a problem with them.

That MAF to airbox hose isn't pressurized, so you don't really need 1"
thick carbon kevlar stainless unobtanium piping.
