[s-cars] Adventures in S-car hoses

Elijah,
The new factory hose is about $200. Agreed, the factory hose is adequate
for most turbos, but the issue with the factory hose is that they dry rot
around the clamps. Most of S cars that I have seen have some degree of
deterioration on this hose. If figure that if I am going to have to replace
the hose anyway, why not take the opportunity to upgrade?

Oh yea, I forgot we were still talking about the MAF to turbo hose. I don't
even understand why this is even an issue. If you are going with an RS2 or
smaller turbo the stock hose is fine, and cheap. It lasted 100,000 miles or
more on most cars so why not just spend the $30 and be good for another
100K?? If you plan to go to a bigger than RS2 turbo then yes you may want
something that will not collapse but 2Bennett already makes this and it is a
nice product, yes its expensive but if your going over RS2 then its a drop
in the bucket.
