>From memory, at least the control arm bushing (sway bar nut) has to be secured while the car is on the ground... at least that was the warning in Bentley. I'll have to check all that tonight when I get home again...
here's the torque values again from Bentley diagram:
#18 - Nut 105 Nm (77ft lb)
#5 - 110 Nm (81 ft lb) plus 1/4 turn (90deg)
#9 - 65 Nm (48 ft lb)
#13 - 120 Nm (89 ft lb) plus 1/4 turn (90deg)
#21 - 110 Nm (81 ft lb) plus 1/4 turn (90deg)
>From what I recall most of the self locking nuts are 65 Nm (48 ft lb), while the bolts are 120 Nm (89 ft lb) plus 1/4 turn (90deg). So I would wager the tranny mount nut is 65 Nm (48 ft lb).
Cheers, /Jamu.

Subject: [s-cars] Well my car has a new subframe
Well my car has a new subframe and it's all hanging in there. The car
is off the ground. The ball joint pinch bolt is torqued. The subframe
bolts and sway bar nut are still loose. Do these all get tightened when
the car is on the ground or just the sway bar nut? Remember that two
subframe bolts also serve to secure the inner control arm bushing. Also
what is the torque for the tranny mount nut? Many many thanks to those
who have helped me. Hopefully Bob Bentley will be in my stocking this
year. ;)
