[s-cars] Oil filter source?

I'm almost 100% that all VW 4 cylinders and Audi 5 cylinders use the same oil filter.  I've used a 944 oil filter on my '82 16v 2.0 Rabbit truck and it worked fine.  The 944 filter is not the same part number but looks identical and spins on just like a factory MANN filter.  Any VW parts place would have your filter in stock.  I own two VWs and one S4 and use the same filters on all three.
