I did see the published annual revenue for speed enforcement in Summersville
in excess of $2M (yes .... two million) ....

Or brass cojones. ;-)

The whole stretch of US 19 from I-79 in the north to I-64/77 in the south
(~70 miles) is one big speed trap. The small town of Summersville with
perhaps 20K residents has (now get this) 34 city cops whose apparent sole
task is to generate revenues from travelers of US-19. The speed limit is 50
through town (most 4 lane highways in the area are posted at 65 rural and 55
in towns) and they don't mean 51 or 52.

My little town of Fayetteville (~4,000 residents), 25 miles south of
Summersville, has nine, count 'em, nine city cops with similar duties to
those of Summersville. Note, a speed limit of 50 is also posted here. The
small town of Oak Hill has a similar number of city cops with similar
duties. Ditto Mount Hope, a few miles further south.

Also note that WV has the lowest crime rate in the nation. We REALLY NEED
all these cops to maintain public safety - right? A few years back
Fayetteville had one full-time and one half-time cop. The full-timer could
have been the role model for Andy of Mayberry. ;-) When he retired it took
nine men to replace him. Good man, eh? ;-)

75 without a good radar detector is essentially suicide on this stretch of
highway. I usually run most of it at about 85 to 95 - thank you V1.
