Generally only the one that burns out goes out. The others remain lighted. It could be that your lights are all the same age and they are all dying more or less at the same time.
One other possibility. A number of years back on a different Audi this check system display went seriously on the Fritz. I "fixed" it by pulling the cluster and opening and closing all the internal plug connectors just to clean corrosion off the connectors. If you try this don't overlook the internal connectors underneath the rear cover for the speedo and tach.

Yes that is it. I believe there are 2 bulbs..one red and other yellow...neither of them are working..nor the Trip Meter or clock adjustment dial. So I am a bit concern that they all went at once unless they are like the ole' Christmas lights where if you loose 1 bulb the whole strand goes out ;-)

Cody,
You're talking about the display which comes up "OK" when starting up, aren't you?
That is not an LED display. Light for the display is provided by two small lights behind the display. One works when the headlights are on and the other works when they aren't (both with the key on, of course). The repair most likely is to pull the cluster and replace the bulbs.

Thanks for the tips Kevin. I should clarify when I said "Engine
Malfunction LED" I was referring to the status indicator gauge above the
trip meter. i.e. displays - Worn Brake Pads, Alternator Voltage Low,
etc. All was working last weekend.
Not the Check Engine Light.
Thx

I had a problem with my autocheck (garbled display), and re-melting and
adding a little new solder to all of the solder joints on the PCB
connectors fixed it. Maybe that will work for your problem also.
However, while doing this I created a short and ended up
blowing out my dimmer rheostat (could have been much worse!)
I would advise you check over all
re-soldered connections with a loupe or something similar before putting
it back in the car, if you go this route.
BTW, the check engine light is an incandescent, not a LED, so it's
possible that the bulb is burned out. But if it was intermittent for a
while that's obviously not the only problem.
And one final BTDT: the bulbs in the upper right light cluster (check
engine, etc) are held in with individual twist sockets attached to wires
running back into the dash. When you go to remove the cluster, these
may
get yanked. Release them before the other connectors. I busted
the brittle plastic tabs off of one of the light sockets the first time
I took the cluster out. That reminds me, I gotta get one of them from
the dealer.
