Thanks all.

Just to let you know yat I epoxied the nipple for a temporary fix - seems to
be holdind out - while I wait to get a new one. Dealer was closed for
inventory on Saturday and online parts are showing average of $44, tho it'll
take about two weeks to get one online.

Of note I noticed after removing the tank that there was a significant
deposit of salt under it from the winter. I was able to wash it out but
something you can't see whilst it's in place. May be worthwhile removing
tank annually to clean out this spot.

FWIR just a firm pull will do. No turning/twisting involved.
