Well, the results are in. I just filled up for the 3rd time in 590 miles,
the last fill-up 17.5 gallons. With an average of 17 gallons/fill-up,
that's 590 miles/51 gallons which comes out to 11.57 miles/gallon. Hmmm,
I think you may be right. Something's wrong here. ;-(

You guys are cracking me up...
I'll try and be clearer on this heh heh:
I drive like an idiot (no really). Each and every (*every*) stopping
occasion results in wannabe WRC driver launches (makes me smile). I
downshift instead of brake.
I still average a considerably respectable 16.5. Something's wrong with
your dude's cars, look further.
Heh, on that note, said launches have me oddly enough looking forward to
mounting my 17x8 Avus boat anchors back on... so much front end lift /
rear end squat I'm spinning my 16x7.5 snows and wearing the front
centers. Never had a car where I didn't eat front outers first...
whoops. That's changed (Mihneacrackchip). Porky pig wheels mit 255s
lift and bake much less apparently heh heh. Time for rear coilovers
(not)...

OK... now I just have to jump in here. The 10 mile commute / 21mpg
was a
stretch, but a 3 mile commute with 10 degree weather getting 19 mpg?
I
suppose it's possible, but I am surprised, or maybe envious. I have
had a
2.5 mile commute and a 5 mile commute in San Francisco where the outside
temp range is almost always 55-70 degrees. I get 12 mpg. ;-( A
tank
rarely gets me > 200 miles. On the highway though, I can get 22 mpg.
:-) Granted I might need a tuneup or some other repair, but stop
signs,
lights, and cold starts can easily eat up twice the fuel as does going
75
mph on a clear day for 100 miles at a time.
