and here's one more crazy data point:

for S's & G's I called the stealer to price the OEM strut and shock for 
my 92, as my Bilstein HD's were worn out, and i didn't have a receipt 
to warranty them:

I think i was quoted around 320-375 bucks apiece.  Bilstein  is an 
attractive choice to those prices.  I went with sports this time, and 
have no complaints.
