Could be "as simple as" backed off pressure plate bolts from the flywheel.
BTDT in south jehrsey:(  but rescued by the now bunkered uncle boost:)
I cannot imagine a pressure plate, disc or FW blowing up

And for the sic sic clutch recommendation it's the S2 FW, Sachs race clutch
sic sic combo.  If not for this, any ole sob could drive the car.
