[s-cars] Radio Help Needed - 95.5 S6 Avant

Two days ago the radio ceased to produce sound.  All of the functions work properly except for actually making sound.  Is there something that I can check or easily fix?  If not, what are my options for replacing the stereo?  I heard that the Avant does not have amplified speakers and that I can just swap out the head unit, is this true?
