Tony:
Are your headlights DOT or e-code?
If DOT, then its as simple as using the bubble level for up/down and
indexed tab for left right. If e-code, then use the following;
All you need is a flat parking lot and a wall, an underground parking
lot works well or a level driveway and garage door. With the lights on,
drive your car so the front is almost touching the wall and mark a
cross-hair on the wall where the centre of the light is, black
electrician tape works well.
Now mark a horizontal line 8 cm below the first mark and mark a vertical
line to indicate centre. Back your car straight back, 8 metres from the
wall, this is effectively 1% drop. With the hood open and your 6 mm hex
key ready, cover one of the headlights and adjust so the horizontal
cut-off is aligned with the lower horizontal reference point. For side
to side, align the centre point of the obtuse angle with the vertical
reference point. Repeat for other headlight and you are done.
