Bob,
Shokan had used pipes for $185. Try Chris at Force 5 or cheaper still,
lister with FMIC.
Did mine yesterday and the attachment points aren't quite the same - had to
make a mod for bracket. But all is well now just waiting for that extra
boost...
Gotta hate changing oil on a Golf. The filter is located right over two
hoses and oil drips everywhere. S6 - smooth oil change.

Subject: [s-cars] Pop Gun Fixed - Maybe
Hi again Y'all,
I'm pleased to relate to you that the subject line has nothing to do with a
visit to the veterinarian or a urologist. :-D
While replacing the blown off MM hose again this morning I think I finally
found the root cause for the problem. The end of the plastic cross-over
pipe has gotten a little soft and was deforming (read collapsing) inside
the hose clamp. No wonder the hose kept sliding off. The word
"plastic" meaning "flowable" should have been the tip off. Oh well...
I took the car to a local muffler shop and had the guy find a 1 inch long
piece of pipe which is a slip fit inside the cross-over pipe. While he was
at it I also had him find another piece for the plastic intercooler
pipe. I put these inside their respective pipes and clamped the MM hose
back down - this time around something fairly stiff. (That's enough out of
you, Paul K.) Went for a test drive. The hose stayed on. At least for
now it stayed on. Obviously this isn't the ideal solution since there is a
bit of added constriction inside the duct work but if it makes the car
drivable... :-) More testing follows.
Last Monday I discovered the reason for my missing 10-12 pounds of
boost. Fixed that. (Nope - ain't tellin'. ;-) )
All in all, a pretty good week. This, of course, leads to the question
"What's the next challenge, O Audis gods?"
