Bose is known as Blose on this list for a reason. My opinion is if it works, don't fix it...the sound it puts out is....uhhhh....adequate.

But.....if mine blose, I won't be fixing it, but will be replacing it with something from someone that knows how to build car stereos.

If you want to stick with Blose, I would leave the stock unit in place, and install a 110V invertor. Use this to power one of their tabletop units that could be installed on the rear deck, and then be operated with the supplied remote. Affix securely - don't need no missles on a quick stop.

This tabletop unit is the only thing I have seen from Blose that is worth the $$$ they make their dealers charge you.

Sorry for the sarcasm - I just find it weird how Blose has managed to put so many stereos in so many cars.....
