[s-cars] removing fuel pump from baffle housing

Brian;

There is a tool to rotate and remove the basket and pump. You can, however,
release the pump from the basket and remove the pump only, leaving the
basket in place. There are two open plastic clips (shaped like rounded
triangles) holding the pump in the basket. Depressing these clips will
release the pump which is then removed by pulling straight up. Bob Myers
discovered this changing his fuel pump - he put out a post on it.

Subject: [s-cars] removing fuel pump from baffle housing

hi guys,

i have gotten to the fuel pump itself but connot yet figure how to kindly
remove the pump from housing.

i have searched archives, to find 1.a special tool is needed...or, 2.i
clould pull directly up with force, wich im not so inclined to do. or
3.fabricate some contraption that i couldnt find a description for, only
that it could be done.

the basket seems to hold on(pump) just with pressure, so strength may be a
possibility, but it also resembles a headlight harness, that i imagine a
proper pinch&twist would let me get the 15degree rotation....also the manual
says to rotate left...should i take that as counter-clock wise?

and if someone wants to tell me to stop, wrap it up&buy a bosh motorsports
pump or another to exceed my rs2 setup, ill gladly listen.

thanks for helping if you can, brian
