I have to look the part number up, but they were definitely the avant springs.  The perch is installed just as you say, that is correctly.  My fender lip measurements are not even though.  The gap between tire and fender in the back is at least 3/4 inch higher when compared to front.

There’s always’s been a lot of confusion WRT proper eibach’s.  It’s urS folklore now.
Could you provide the part number off the springs?  
The lower perch could be installed upside down..  It should look like a rightside up cowboy hat.. somewhat contrary to what some installer might think.
Also (I think) my avant with eibachs has a bit of a raked look to it… which I like actually, but measurements from wheel rim to fender lip front and back are identical..  It is therefore what I call an “elliptical delusion.”
