Me again...
Ok, the AG (Audi Gods) must really be pissed at me, again.... First things
first. Just before putting the S4 up for the winter I had an ignition
problem where the ecu would start throttling back when boost got over 14psi
or so... I diagnosed it as a couple of bad coils and a week or so ago threw
a new set in. The car was smooth as ever but I couldn't see over 21lbs.
Since my exhaust would hit the cross member when getting on it, last week I
was curious if the knock sensor would back things off if it could hear the
noise. Sat I completely removed the cross member and I'm back at 26lbs again
! I'd still like to monitor the sensor to see it in action but for now I
think that problem is solved. Which brings me to the next problem....
My car no longer runs... at all ! 8-( After running great for ONE day it
stumbled really bad, almost like a fuel starvation problem, check engine
light came on, and just as I started looking for a place to bail on the side
of the road, things got smooth, power came back, check engine light goes out
and I'm back to normal. Parked it for an hour or so. Got back in, turned key
and she started right up for about ten seconds then out she goes. Now I get
no cranking what so ever. Good battery, turn key, no crank, nothing. I don't
think it's the ingition switch as I've had that one before and doesn't
usually involve NOT firing the solenoid. Had it flat bedded home. Little
consolation but the guy who got it home really liked the car and was all
over it and cut me a wicked break. $60 !!! I'll start poking at it tonight
but any ideas ?
Any relays invoved with the starter ?
and the kicker, jump into the backup (winter beater) car this morning and
see a nice dot4 puddle on the driver floor. WTF.... 8-(
f'n cars....
tom. (down to 1 Audi at the moment)
