Cody, Bosch alternators have a cut-out when the rotational speed isn't
at a particular level. Sometimes, I can hit this if I just start the
car and let it idle without the RPMS ever getting about 1k. You say it
happens at idle. What if you just slightly blip the throttle? Does the
light go out? If so, it may be because of this "feature." It shouldn't
go out once it has come on though (it is only supposed to do the check
at startup IIRC).
BTW, the light is supposed come on (if the engine is running) when the
alternator is not putting out voltage.
