[s-cars] Battery Charge Light?

Cody,

My '89 200 has done this for years.....just rev it up after it's started and
it goes away. I believe the alternator is weak on my '89 200 but it isn't
dead yet.

I will measure the voltage tonight.

Here is what I found regarding your Quattro Archives Post:

And
http://www.audifans.com/pipermail/quattro/20020328/051000.html

Not sure if it is relevant to our cars or not?

I haven't had any dead batteries but need to check voltage in a few
locations with and without engine running and with different loads on
the car.

Thx

Cody

Have you put a voltage meter to the alternator output when
it happens? That would confirm the alternator's health.

I don't know if the C4 S cars have it, but the Type 44 200s
have a splice in the cable between the battery and ...
alternator? jumper post? The splice is under the passenger
footwell/kick panel. Anyway, the splice corrodes, causing a
drop in voltage. There is a write-up in the quattro archives
on how to correct it.
