Cody,
My '51 Ford coupe used to do the same thing, usually at night
(generator load ). Could be
a bad alternator (It was generators then) or brushes, but mine was
usually the drive belt
had glazed and slipped under load. Don't neglect to start this
troubleshooting with the obvious
bad belt, bad tensioner or a loose or corroded connection at
alternator or battery. You're probably
not running the A/C yet like some of those at lower altitude, but
perhaps something else has added
enough load to expose the weak point in the system.
