OK,

So it's been discussed and it sounds like I can replace the stock Bose
head unit with an aftermarket one and still keep the rest of the system
(until further upgrades can happen).

My goal is to end up with a good sounding system that incorporates
controls for my Ipod in the head unit.

Alpine offers the KCA-420i Ipod interface for $99, which will work with
Alpine head units. you can get specifics on it here:

Pioneer offers the CD-IB100 iPod interface adapter for $119.95, it
works with Pioneer head units, specifics available here:

I had received a gift ot the transpod from my loving wife but plan on
returning it and buying a new stereo and one of these interfaces.

Does anybody have any thoughts on brands?

Is there anyone that still insists that you can't replace JUST the Bose
stereo itself?

Looking for input before I waste moola that could be used to buy shiny
stuff for my engine (ala Hap)

Thanks
Chris
