>From what I hear about Audi warranty policy, I
wouldn't be surprised if they bounce your claim
because the car is chipped. =P
Seriously, as long as there has been no damage,
bodywork or paintwork you should be OK.

Whoa whoa whoa men!
You rusty hood guys will have to sart your own
thread;)
I myself, speaking for myself about tailgates, can
only report that my
rusty message to the dealer was totally accepted by
the service
writers voice mail and Ah'm sure he will call me back
tomorrow. oh
yes he surely will right?
But I am heartened by the seemingly general consensus
that I will get
a new tailgate.
AND I must say that for my particular isatiously
stupid but generally
okay avant, I would deem the tailgate as perhaps the
most troublesome
part.
I would say to avant owners that there is seam about
8mm above the
tail lights that runs the entire length of the
tailgate that should be
looked at closely. You may have only 6 to 9 mos. for
a warranty claim
that could save you 1 to 1.5 k in repairs. The body
shop guy I went
to seemed pretty much uninterested in dealing with
anything
uninsurance related.
