At any rate you can keep the bracket if you like.  Like I said two of
the mounting holes for the bracket remain, and you can either weld
bosses for the other two bolts to the centre casing or use a steel cable
as a choker around the centre casing.

Here is my 6-speed with the Procon ten bracket attached.

Exactly, and the system was abandoned when Audis started coming with
dual airbags standard in all markets.  A 1995 S6 has the same seatbelt
rollers as a 1993 S4 but no Procon ten system.  In losing the bracket on
a '93 S4, you would be as safe as if you drove a 1995 S6.  That is why I
consider losing the bracket not such a big deal on any 93+ S4.

Right.  When I called it a lock I was being too general.  The cables
wrapped around the proconten bracket pull on the seat belts.  So
locking and latching are incorrect terms, tensioning is better.
